Summary/Abstract: The author points to the changes which the students have undergone throughout past fewyears. She bases her arguments on the students’ answers to the survey which she conductedin primary, junior high and high schools. Two features are especially prominent among theyoung, Polish generation: it takes longer for the teenagers to reach emotional maturity andtheir approach to learning is strictly pragmatic. Such situation creates a need for rethinkingthe curriculum as well as the form of conveying it on every stage of education. Since currentlyall changes take place very fast, which is typical for our times, the author emphasises that itis important to monitor these changes and that such surveys are crucial before introducingany educational reforms.
