Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the book Polifonie: Rzecz o pracy twórczej Teatru Węgajty (Polyphonies: The Creative Work of the Węgajty Theatre), edited by Katarzyna Kułakowska and published by the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences in 2023. The reviewer analyses the implications of the volume’s research methodo- logies, structure, and the arrangement of contributions within its sections. She also discusses the main thematic areas and specific problems that come to the fore in the course of reading and are especially interesting in the context of contemporary postulates regarding the writing of the history of theatre and institutional critique.
