Summary/Abstract: The article presents the phenomenon of sexting both in a positive, socially acceptable sense, and in the context of the risks associated with sharing sexuality through cybertechnology. The considerations began with the proper definition of the phenomenon itself and the motivations most often followed by Internet users in connection with this time of behavior as well as the most common motives for such activities among people. In the further part of the article, the legal and normative codification was analyzed, in which the crimes most similar to sexting behavior were listed. Attention was also drawn to the important role of the age of the participants as a factor that determines the distinction between the positive and negative aspects of mentioned phenomenon. Mainly based on the youngest among the existing age groups, the methods of preventing undesirable behaviors related to sexting were approximated and the appropriate approach to combating their negative effects was defined.
