Summary/Abstract: The paper addresses issues related to the contribution of digital age equipment in shaping the quality of life of children with autism spectrum disorders and their families. The author uses the knowledge in the area of neurobiology and, based on the assumptions of the Krakow Method, analyzes the role of high technologies in shaping the quality of functioning of children with indicated disabilities and their families. The author of the paper, assessing the impact of digital age technology on the direct functioning of children with autistic disorders, is very cautious in expressing unequivocal conclusions. In the article highlights specifi c technological solutions that signifi cantly improve the quality of life of this group of children but simultaneously, a number of negative eff ects of electronic devices have been indicated. The brain of a small child, and especially a child whose development paths are in some way disturbed, is very susceptible to the infl uence of electronic devices. Electronic devices, through the dynamics of images and sounds, overstimulate the right hemisphere of the brain. Excessive stimulation of the right hemisphere of the brain can inhibit the development of the left hemisphere, which is called the lingual hemisphere. As this paper proves, language clearly participates in the development of other cognitive functions.
