THREATS ON THE INTERNET

Summary/Abstract: The Internet is a method of communication that, in addition to its opportunities, carries numerous threats that are an inherent element of modern times. The widespread presence of the global network can be dangerous for society, but it is also a challenge for governments, which must not only protect themselves against it, but also use it. In this work, attention was focused on issues such as manipulation and lies on the Internet, or its importance in hybrid confl icts. Then, the concept of information warfare was characterized and the infl uence of the Internet on the development of mental disorders was presented. The aim of the article is to present the role of threats on the Internet in the modern world as a valuable element of the economy, media and national and international defense. The main research problem is the question: what is the role of threats on the Internet in the modern world? This study was based on theoretical research methods such as analysis, synthesis, inference and abstraction. The literature on the subject provided a more complete understanding of individual issues.
