FOUNDATIONS OF POLAND’S ENERGY SECURITY IN THE GAS AREA

Summary/Abstract: The article is an analytical study of the identifi cation of the possibilities of shaping state energy security. The aim of the considerations undertaken is to identify the essence and nature of state energy security in the area of natural gas. The research problem is: what are the foundations for shaping Poland’s energy security at the present stage of its development and are there any chances of achieving it today? Finding an answer to the problem question should be helped by the hypothesis: „Poland’s energy security is a very important component of the country’s economic security. Its formation on the basis of domestic resources is far from suffi cient. It requires recourse to external supply on principles that do not harm the country’s sovereignty. Research methods to achieve the stated objective are the analysis of the literature on the subject as well as economic practice and the synthesis of its conclusions. This approach should also make it possible, based on past experience, to develop research arguments for the economic and security sciences.
