Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the identity of Polish immigrants in the province of Misiones, Argentina. The first part of the article presents the historical context, while the second one comprehensively analyses the identity of one of the residents of Posadas, Casimira Kotur, based on interviews conducted with her. The working methods is based on the following theoretical concepts: narrative identity according to Paul Ricoeur, review of social roles of social actors and Mikhail Bakhtin’s concept of polyphony.
