Summary/Abstract: In the contemporary landscape of Society 5.0, characterized by the full integration of cyberspace and the physical world, a transition towards a Super Smart Society is underway. Society 5.0 represents a preliminary phase in the evolution from an information society to a super smart society, marked by the pervasive influence of artificial intelligence and unmanned technologies. While Society 5.0 offers notable advancements, it also presents ethical challenges that impact humanity’s moral compass, necessitating resolution. Within this context, questions arise concerning the potential for individuals’ ethical understanding to deteriorate amidst challenging living conditions, prompting reflection on the appropriate course of action. Moreover, the perception of negative ethical actions within the public sphere may undergo transformation, prompting the need for metaethical deliberations. Reşat Nuri Güntekin’s work, Balıkesir Accountant serves as a platform for such metaethical discussions, highlighting the impact of economic circumstances on individuals’ ethical frameworks. This study aims to explore the transition of cultural values, initially established as ethical norms through a completed cultural ergonomic process, into negative ethical codes within the framework of ethical values depicted in Güntekin’s Balıkesir Accountant Employing the Metaethical Theory of Folklore and the analysis methodology associated with it, namely the Folklore Foundation Metaethical Analysis Method, this research seeks to elucidate the stages of ethical degradation within the cultural ergonomic process, pinpointing moments of negative transformation in ethical perception.
