Summary/Abstract: This article intends to analyze the work of the crepuscular poets, a literary school considered modernist by tradition, from the perspective of narcissism seen as a defining cultural model for postmodernism, starting from the suggestions of the American historian and sociologist Christopher Lash. The crepuscular poetry of Gozzano and his contemporaries is distinguished by its ability to represent the everyday with precision and detail, while at the same time reflecting the psychological and cultural nuances of postmodern society. This poetic current is part of a context of cultural change between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, highlighting a narcissistic attitude that permeates both the poetic work and the surrounding reality. The text underlines that the postmodernist aspect of crepuscular poetry is not limited to the techniques of reuse and intertextuality, already widely documented by the critical tradition, but can also be described from the perspective of the concept of narcissism as a fundamental attitude for the contemporary world.
