Summary/Abstract: Purpose- This study aims to determine the factors affecting the profitability of enterprises in the agriculture and fisheries sectors by utilizing the balance sheets, income statements and financial ratios published within the framework of real sector statistics by the CBRT. Design/Methodology/Approach- The factors affecting profitability are based on the studies in the literature and in this context, return on assets represents the dependent variable of the study. The independent variables are debt ratio, equity turnover ratio, asset turnover ratio, size, acid-test ratio, current ratio, leverage ratio, receivables turnover ratio and interest earning ratio. Panel data analysis method was used in the study and the study, was conducted with panel data static models. Findings - There is a statistically significant, negative relationship between return on assets and leverage ratio, and a positive relationship between return on assets and equity turnover ratio. There is no significant relationship between return on assets and other independent variables. Discussion - The use of high leverage by enterprises in the agriculture and fisheries sector can be explained as financial risk. High leverage ratio can be expressed as having more debt when evaluated financially. It is thought that enterprises can increase return on assets (ROA) by using less debt. In addition, following technological developments, determining strategies for efficiency and productivity, and benefiting from natural resources under sustainable conditions may support the positive relationship between return on assets and equity turnover.
