Summary/Abstract: The language was born from the combination of two simpler systems. The first system, called type E (for expressive) is found in bird songs. The second system is called type L (for lexicon). The expressive structure concerns only the syntagma of the conjunction, in which there are some expressive expressions such as query, focus, topical. Only human language has a lexical syntax. Bird songs lack lexical points, words, which are present in human language. Grammar does not simply allow the union of L-type units. Grammar only allows E-L units. Bird songs lack the repetition that is so present in human language. Repetition in human language is present in the lexical structure, but not in the expressive structure. Therefore, the expressive structure of human language is similar to that of birdsong. The syntagmatic movement always occurs from the lexical structure to the structure of expression. Movement unifies the structure of expression and the lexical structure of human language.
