The Relationship Between Intergenerational Knowledge Sharing, Organisational Learning and Organisational Communication Climate: An Application on Administrative Health Workers

Summary/Abstract: This study aims to explore the interplay among intergenerational knowledge sharing, organizational learning, and the communication climate within administrative healthcare staff. Conducted as a cross-sectional survey, it employed quantitative data collection methods. The study involved 244 participants from a population of 510 administrative health employees within a private chain hospital group in Istanbul. Statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS 22.0 and IBM SPSS AMOS 22.0, including correlation, regression, and descriptive analyses. Results indicated a strong positive correlation between organizational communication climate and learning across individual, group, and organizational levels, as well as with employee knowledge sharing. Additionally, a statistically significant positive relationship was observed between knowledge sharing and organizational learning, albeit at a lower level. Notably, intergenerational differences were noted, with Generation Z individuals displaying a greater inclination toward information sharing. Furthermore, managerial status and higher income levels were associated with better organizational communication and learning. The findings underscore the importance for businesses to focus on enhancing organizational communication to facilitate effective knowledge sharing and learning processes.
