Summary/Abstract: the aim of this article is to present the results of a qualitative content analysis of selected stories shared by women who completed the “Mothers’ Voice” (“Głos Matek”) survey in 2020–2021. the survey was first conducted in 2000 by the Childbirth with Dignity Foundation (pol. Fundacja Rodzić po Ludzku) and it has been continued since. the questionnaire included both closed and open-ended questions, which gave the women space to tell their own childbirth stories. Many of these statements are shocking stories of violence suffered by women giving birth in Poland. using key understandings on the appropriate course of childbirth and legislation on patients’ rights, the authors analysed various cases of medical and obstetric violence and proposed their classification.
