Summary/Abstract: Scientific knowledge of the Albanian language in Russia before the October upheavel did not exceed the information contained in the standard works on comparative-historical linguistics. he first "monographic" work about the Albanian language in Russian was a small article by N.J. Marr "On Yaphetidisms of the Albanian language", published in 1922.
