Summary/Abstract: The Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP) has been in constant evolution since 2017. As a result of the changing international security environment, the European Union has been faced with the need to take real responsibility for security and defense and become more ac-tive in this area. It has been successfully launched Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO), European Defence Found (EDF), Coordinated Annual Review on Defence (CARD), and Military Planning and Conduct Capability (MPCC), a permanent command and control structure for plan-ning and conducting missions without executive mandate. In March 2021 another instrument arrived in the form of a European peace fund, to finance the shared costs of CSDP military operations and missions.
