Summary/Abstract: This paper is summary of an interantional workshop Implementation of Enlightened Reforms and the Egalitarisation of Society, 1750–1850 organized at Charles University, Faculty of Humanities. At this event various historical and sociological aspects of the Enlightenment period were discussed, focusing on the implementation of reforms and the egalitarianization of society between 1750 and 1850. It highlights the role of police as both a repressive and constructive institution, examining its impact on public order, health, and social equality. The workshop organized by Pavel Himl explored these themes through multiple perspectives, including the professionalization of the bureaucratic apparatus, surveillance of foreigners, and the standardization of public administration. Contributions from various scholars provided insights into the evolving nature of state power, public health policies, and the social dynamics of the time. The document also touches on the emotional and gender aspects of early modern society, as discussed in a separate workshop led by Claudia Opitz and Andrea Griesebner. This section emphasizes the interpretation and regulation of emotions and passions within the normative discourses of the period.
