Summary/Abstract: Demographic changes are a research topic in social sciences from various perspectives. In this article, the author discusses their impact on the Polish labor market. The importance of the challenge results primarily from the dynamics of the observed demographic changes, which are permanent and advanced. The article analyzes a selected element of demographic changes, which is the decline in population, especially in the working-age population. The scope of the research covers the Polish market. The aim of the article is to indicate the most important consequences of the changing population size and its structure for the Polish labor market. The indicated goal was achieved through an analysis of the literature and a critical review of research results and formulated demographic forecasts. The discussion highlighted the problem of employee shortage as an effect of the demographic decline, and it was also pointed out that the problem of the decline in the working-age population will deepen. The implications of this observed challenges were pointed out, including: migration (foreign workers) and the need to extend the age of professional activity.
