Summary/Abstract: Following the foundation of the Republic, New Türkiye started a major activity to introduce its modern identity, culture and social life to the world. For this purpose, studies were carried out in the field of press and broadcasting, as in many other fields. For this purpose, some journals and magazines were published and promotional activities were carried out. One of these is the journal of Ankara, which was published in French between 1934-1942. This journal, which contained a lot of visual material, consisted of eight pages, was printed in Ankara, and was offered for sale in big cities such as Istanbul and Izmir the next day. Of course, a significant part of the printed copies were sent to foreign states. Journal of Ankara, which aims to promote the march of the Turkish Revolution and the speed of national rise with its economic and social aspects, has been delivered to many countries, especially European countries and the United States. Some of the journal copies were sent to newsagents for sale, while an important part was sent to libraries, universities, and foreign editorial offices of the journals. Thus, those who were doing research on Türkiye and intending to follow news were informed by the Journal of Ankara, which contained a wide variety of news and information about Türkiye. We were able to access the copies of the Journal of Ankara, which was published in French, from the Archives of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. There are many articles, news and advertisements on Türkiye's political life, history, culture, natural beauties, economy, and newly formed industry in the Journal of Ankara, which we can only access from 1934. When these articles are evaluated in general terms, it is observed that the perception of Turks and Türkiye, which formed and left bad effects in the Western public opinion until the proclamation of the Republic, was tried to be changed. In this paper, the establishment process will be discussed with the documents obtained from the Republic Archive of the Presidency of State Archives, and the images and perceptions that are tried to be created will be tried to be determined by emphasizing the articles aimed at promoting Turkish culture through different examples. Our main sources consist of archival documents on the founding of the journal and its impact after its establishment, the collection of the Journal of Ankara, and copyrighted works dealing with the press life.
