Summary/Abstract: This article presents a study on the attitudes towards the choice of the teaching profession of students studying pedagogic specialties from Sofia university "St. Cl. Ohridski" and AMDFA "Prof. Asen Diamandiev". The problem of students' motivation for choosing teaching profession is essential, since teachers play a key role in the educational process and contribute to the quality of education. The research found that students from both higher education institutions have positive attitudes towards teaching, but there are 20 23 ПРОЛЕТНИ НАУЧНИ ЧЕТЕНИЯ 22 differences in terms of the difficulty and flexibility of the profession, beliefs about shaping the future of children/adolescents, salary and satisfaction with choosing a teaching major.
