Summary/Abstract: Skin cancer represents the most prevalent type of cancer in the US with over one million of new cases reported yearly. Moreover, the rate of sunscreen usage, the main protective behavior against skin cancer, has fallen rapidly among the general population with only 30% of individuals engaging in this behavior (NCI, 2009). This is particularly troublesome as the rates of melanoma, the more dangerous type of skin cancer, have increased while the rates for most other types of cancers have decreased.
