Summary/Abstract: Mitrush Kuteli took a heavy blow during the period of Albanian Communism both as a political prisoner and persecuted and as one who was barred in his creative activity. Two of the current fiction pieces were not written from the prison cells but in his last days of life speaking of the pressure he was under during the period of Communist liberty. At the age of 58, two years before his death, he was overcome by deceases, including spondylitis and psychical illness: insomnia, weakness, and inactivity which had an impact on his creative, moral and philosophical dispositions creating a controversial man from an intuitive man: wanting death, wishing death, asking for death. This traumatic condition did not provide him with a power to finish his literary work. His limitations in his literary creativity left consequences in his life psychology: in his feeling financially insecure for himself and his family, physically exhausted, physically powerless, and utterly resigned: he does not recommend artistic creativity to his children although they had the talent. Despite his traumas and depression, Mitrush Kuteli, however, finds some force to preserve the nation’s statue: his love for the country and love for the language.
