Summary/Abstract: In the dramatic conditions which were those of the Romanian people when the Ist World War broke out, the Romanians from the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, called up to fight on the fronts an behalf of foreign intereats, let themselves be captured ar passed willingly to the opposite camp, convinced as they were that, thus weakening the monarchy, they could prepare the way for emancipation and national union.
