Foster care as a form of caring about children

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with a brief historical survey of developing foster care in Russia; there is a definition of the notion of foster care, its kinds; in this connection the rights of foster carers are considered. Much attention is paid to the advantages of this form of caring about children without parental care. The work also tells about the causes of losing interest in this form due to adopting the Federal law № 48 «On Guardianship and Custodianship» of April 24, 2008.
