Summary/Abstract: Th problem of national self-realization was always important for all Russian philosophers. Now Russia is widely compared to the USA. The author suggests his own view on the "American idea", based on his own experience and observations of the American culture. Professor Sergeev lives in Filadelfia and is lecturing in the Filadelfian University of Arts.
