Le démoniaque dans l'iconographie cosmologique du XIIe siècle
The Demonic in the Cosmological Iconography of the Twelfth Century

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to research the historical functions of the picturings that are accompanying the cosmological writings in the XIIth century. Particularly oriented to describe the aspects of the demoniacal as category of the cosmological iconography, the article proves that besides a cosmological theory that rationally explains the corporal world, there is also a parallel theory that uses a whole series of symbols, in order to represent a different point of view on this subject matter.
