Summary/Abstract: Beside the assimilation of the Greek and Arabic philosophical elements by the Latin West we can also identify an analogous process: the interaction between the Greek and Arabic culture with the Jewish thought. The present paper will focus its content on a forgotten figure that emerged in the medieval Jewish tradition, Rabbi Asher b. Meshullam. Along with a translation from his Commentary on the Berakhot tractate we can find a useful account of the terminology, metaphysical, cosmological, epistemological ideas that can be tracked in that commentary.
