Summary/Abstract: Describing the months that followed the September 11 terrorist attack on World Trade Center, the author points out the sources of human endurance and of regeneration and the capacity to unbuild and rebuild, that characterize a democratic society. Also he gives us some clues for the understanding of the psychological frame of mind of certain social groups affected by the tragedy and involved in the reconstruction work
