Germany to become a European China?

Summary/Abstract: The year 2013 is an undisputed success of Angela Merkel’s policy. She won the parliamentary election and became the leader of the coalition government for the third time in a row. Voters appreciated her internal policy as well as her foreign policy, meant to preserve Germany’s economic position in the EU. However, the greatest challenge to the stability of the new government, much greater than anything Merkel has had to face till now, will be her new coalition partner, the SPD, the financial crisis within the Union, and the increasingly unstable situation on the border of the Community, mainly in Ukraine. And it will be those problems that the sustainability of the new great coalition will depend on.
