Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to discus some similarities between Popperian philosophy of science and the French conventionalism. A reconstruction of Popper's interpretation of Duhem's and Poincaré's philosophy enables the author to point out some mistakes in Popper's reading of their conceptions. The general conclusion of this study is an argument that there are significant similarities between the ideal of the scientific knowledge professed by Popper and the by the classical conventionalists. The main difference between them lies in Popper's rather paradoxical stance on the problem of the possibility of the experimentum crucis.
