Summary/Abstract: “The Wave of the Discussion on Bath” is a short anonymous work written in the New Logic (navya-nyāya) circles. It examines a definition of bath, expression by expression and according to the criteria of the following principle: “Bath is the contact, at one time, of water with all one’s own external members of the body”. This work, far from being a vain scholastic exercise, attempts to analyze a common Hindu practice within a conceptual and rational framework. « La vague de la discussion du bain » est un bref texte anonyme émanant des cercles de la nouvelle logique (navya-nyāya). Elle examine une définition du bain, expression par expression et selon les critères de la logique : « le bain est le contact, en une seule fois, de l’eau avec tous les propres membres extérieurs de la personne ». Loin de former un vain exercice scolastique, elle tente d’analyser rigoureusement une pratique hindoue courante dans une perspective conceptuelle et rationnelle
