Summary/Abstract: The author shows the main stages in the development of Russian leg-islation at the end of the 19th — the first quarter of the 20th century with ref-erence to Moscow unions of art intelligentsia. The author concludes that leg-islative regulation of art intelligentsia unions at the studied period was not finally registered. Author’s conclusions are verified with archive materials concerning Moscow art unions and issued at the studied period and with in-formation from different regulatory legal acts
