Summary/Abstract: The article reviews the detention of requested persons in the extradition and surrender proceedings as provided for in the European Convention on Extradition (ECE), the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (RSICC) and the Bulgarian Code of Criminal Procedure. More precisely, the following issues are discussed: the general review of extradition proceedings; provisional arrest according to art. 16 ECE; detention at the time of extradition proceedings; cases of arrest under RSICC; arrest proceedings in custodial state under RSICC.
