Summary/Abstract: The article attempts to find out Ukrainian influence on the formation of the surname system of the inhabitants in one of the Polish regions. In the course of the investigation surnames formed with the help of Ukrainian formants –uk (-‘uk); -enko, -ko are examined; anthroponymic hybrids with those suffixes, that is surnames formed with the help of the Ukrainian formant but with the Polish motivation name in the base are revealed. Surnames with formants -ak (-‘ak); -k-: -ek, -ik, -yk, -ak, -(cz)yk; -ski, - cki, -ński, -owski are analyzed. Genetically transparent and genetically non-transparent anthroponyms as well as anthroponyms which include elements common for the two languages are determined.
