Summary/Abstract: Activities by which individuals, groups, and legal persons threaten, destroy, damage, pollute, or endanger the environment are numerous and various. These activities represent the results of conscious violation of rules, technical instructions, and standards for handling numerous hazardous sources of energy and raw materials or potentially hazardous devices, which creates conditions for the risk of accidents of different type, scope, and size, encompassing a specific area and everything found within it. Such activities of individuals, groups, and even entire states represent illegal, prohibited, and punishable offences or delicts. Since these unlawful activities are committed in the field of occupational and environmental management, conservation, improvement and protection in our narrow or broader surrounding, these types of delicts are also called environmental delicts. Depending on the scope and the intensity of the consequences they cause to the environment, the committed acts they include, the characteristics of their perpetrators, the fact that particular behaviour is incriminated by laws and other general sub-legal acts, as well as the type of prescribed sanctions, there are three types of environmental delicts: 1) felonies, 2) economic offences, and 3) misdemeanours.
