Summary/Abstract: The article presents and analyses the Vatican’s official position on the Holocaust, from the declaration “We Remember” of 1998 to Benedict XVI’s speeches. The author indicates a certain ambiguity of the Catholic Church’s attitude to anti-Semitic and Holocaust issues, as well as the reluctance to recognize the role of the Catholics’ in the Holocaust. The contentious issue of the beatification of Pius XII is also discussed.
