Summary/Abstract: The article explores Vincenz's knowledge on Jewish culture based on the interpretation of his story of golem in the light of the other golem stories, as well as in the light of the discussion provided by Jewish wise men throughout the ages. The story is an argument in a philosophical debate appearing in In The Upper Highlands. This debate addresses a key question: to what extend does the lack of borders equal freedom. Vincenz comes to the conclusion that freedom means respecting the divine and eternal laws.
