Financial and Legal Aspects of the Documentary Letter of Credit in Foreign Trade

Summary/Abstract: A perquisite for the foreign trade bank mediation are the foreign exchange risks, the commercial and permissive regulations that are statutory in the national legal systems, and the choice they conditioned for a specific estimated-payment form. This is meant to achieve an optimum dependency between the deal’s contracted parameters and the adequacy of the payment form applied for execution. The cumulating of the above mentioned factors for foreign trade stability determines the dominant position of the documentary letter of credit in international transactions. Hence the scientific research gravitates around the quintessence between the immanent characteristics of the letter of credit and its reason over the trading positions, respectively the financial status of the subcontractors in the transboundary calculations.
