Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the relation between the sociological instruments applied to a study of a phenomenon of a high level of structuralization or which represent rational systems and a study of phenomena of probability nature. The scientific decision has been searched for at two levels: the meaning of the rational and probable logic of the social phenomena and the modification of the sociological approaches and instruments in the two research fields. Consequently, the relation between the objects of empirical research and the sociological theory of society. All conclusions and proposed ideas have been based on the results from the comparative study of the process of decisions in the industries of Bulgaria and France (1983-1985). At that time, however, the sociological institutions were not prepared to carry out such a discussion. The system-structural approach assists in the birth of Bulgarian sociology after World War II and can be hypostalized as an adequate research method of the highly structuralized and determined interactions in the sociological system. Today, however, it is necessary to validate the boundaries of its application to the phenomena of various degree of definiteness and order and this has been realized in the proposed analysis in relation to the rationality of the social systems and the strategic decisions.
