Summary/Abstract: A brief overview of Carl Jung type theory and MBTI empirical approach, concerning interrelation ethnos-culture-type is presented. The aim of this study is to define and describe the typological preferences of five ethnic groups in Bulgaria — Bulgarians, Turks, Roma, Armenians and Jews. The sample consists of 573 high school students with different ethnic origin. Five SRTT (Self-Selection Ratio Type Table) comparisons are made — between students of each ethnic group and the whole sample. The results show that each ethnic group has its own type preferences and type distribution. Bulgarians and Jews are predominantly N, NT, EP, NF, NP, EN and ENFP. Turks, Armenians and Roma are predominantly S and SJ. Turks and Roma are predominantly J. The results are consistent with the type theory and the relevant studies in the psychological literature.
