Summary/Abstract: This article attempts to explain the reasons for the difficulties in overcoming the crisis of control in ABC Sp. z.o.o. company. The results of the observations made during longitudinal studies conducted in the organization indicated that − paradoxically − the main factors hampering the organization to overcome the crisis of control are: CEO’s personality and soft skills – which is the main initiator of organizational changes. The results of interviews made with the CEO and with managers employed in the company in December 2013 allow to suppose that one of these features is called “locus of control” presented by the chairman. This is why researchers decided to use “Man at work” Questionnaire. The results seem to confirm the supposition that the locus of control and the consequent CEO characteristics constitute an explanation of the problems associated with overcoming the crisis of control in the company. Additionally, the author describes some management paradoxes, trying to explain them.
