Summary/Abstract: Bio-evolutionary aspect of inequality, competition and cooperation, their manifestations and interactions in various types of colonies have been the subject of the article. Special attention has been paid to sex as an inequality and competition factor. In contrast to sociobiology, not only the degree of genetic kinship among members of a colony has been considered in this study, but also the type of sexual relationships typical of the respective species: reproduction as a purely physiological process lacking the social element; reproduction presuming some degree of social contact between partners and among parents and children as well; presence or absence of biological monopoly over the function of reproduction.
