Summary/Abstract: Council of Vilnius, in 1514, greatly improved the functioning and internal organization of the Orthodox Church and strengthened the discipline and moral state of the Ruthenian clergy. The council of 1514 canonized Elizeusz Lavryshevski and this new development of his canonization led to his worship among the faithful of the Orthodox Church throughout the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
