Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes the linguistic cultural characteristics of the concept “friendship” in Russian and Kazakh languages. Actuality of theme is determined by perspective of comparatively-comparable study of paramiological units (PE) with the concept “friendship” and by absence of special linguistic studies of the concept of friendship on the material mapping of Russian and Kazakh paremiology. The object of the research is the representation of a concept “friendship” in Russian and Kazakh linguistic consciousness. Material forthis study was 50 sayings and proverbs in Russian and 40 in the Kazakh language. Analyzing the components highlighted in the structure of the concept “friendship”, the author notes, that the most significant was «friendship is a mutual affection» in Russian (40% of PE), and in the Kazakh language (37%). Other components have approximately equal importance. Identified analogues testify to the active interaction of the two cultures examined, the development of integration processes; whereas differences, obviously, due to the peculiarities of the historical and cultural development of countries.
