Summary/Abstract: Ivan Mažuranić was the first among the South Slavs to translate "The Books of the Polish People and of the Polish Pilgrimage" by Adam Mickiewicz, with the impact in his political brochure "Croats and Hungarians". The knowledge of literary translations of the period contributes to the research of the Croatian‑Polish relationship during the long‑termendangerment of the national identities of both nations.
