Regional System of Financing Innovation Activity – a model and a definitional approach

Summary/Abstract: The objective of the article was to develop a model of the Regional System of Financing Innovation Activity (RSFDI in Polish). The definition and a simplified picture of the structure is preceded by the identification of its postulated properties. In the light of these properties, tasks of the Regional Coordination Centre for Financing Innovation Activity (RSFDI’s key entity) are defined. The tasks are associated with the formation of a comprehensive and orderly cooperation environment to cover the cost of innovation activity, as well as the evaluation and financing of new or considerably improved solutions. These considerations are concluded with a proposal to form a territorial group of companies intended as a financial support for regional innovation processes.
