Racial Hygiene in Germany

Summary/Abstract: The article is a historical review of ideologies and historical facts connected with Nazi idea of eugenics. It is divided into chapters on German eugenic »prehistory«, on transformation of racial medicine into Nazi propaganda, on the practice of eugenic programs (which deals mostly with Nazi »sterilization laws«, and with »euthanasia project T4«); further, a chapter on »destruction of life unworthy of liv-ing« - on destruction through forced labour, holocaust, a chapter dedicated to the »Lebensborn project«; further, a chapter on germanization of »racially superior« children from occupied territories, and a chapter on the destiny of some eugenicists. This review is a part of the author's larger project on historical and contemporary eugenics - it serves as a »reminder« of a gruesome eugenic past.
