Summary/Abstract: The article outlines current trends across and within transport sectors and considers planning of transport networks and its development. The transport sector is affected by broad trends such as changes in demographics, technology and social attitudes. The article is an abridged translation of ‘Trends in Transport’ report published by the UK Parliamentary Office of Science & Technology, Houses of Parliament (POSTnote No. 496, June 2015).
