Summary/Abstract: The inscriptions analysed are situated in the lower row of the murals in the nave of St. George's Church at the Kremikovtsi Monastery. They are dated to the year 1493. There are three types .of texts: inscriptions of scrolls and books; names of saints; cryptograms and monograms. The former are on a white background, and the latter on a dark blue background. Three of the texts have a liturgical content, the remainder is of didactic nature. The letters are elongated and almost symmetrical.
