Summary/Abstract: Sacrament of penance is the privileged instrument of the pastoral of the Church, through which the faithful encounter with Christ has granted the grace of mercy, renew their spiritual life, light up in the love of God and learn to generous service to others. By the forgiveness of sins Christian hope is gaining new life and becomes a witness of the resurrection, which brings to the life of the Church dynamism enable the renewal of the world in accordance with God's plan. This article presents a number of incentives Holy See expressed by the Fathers of Vatican II and the Popes Paul VI, John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis, who very oft takes this topic and offer laity and clergy use of the sacrament of penance as a way to grow in faith and love.
