Summary/Abstract: The political struggle between centralist and federalist-oriented political parties was present from the beginning of the formation of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes and has led to degradation of parliamentary life in the country. Most conspicuous was the political turmoil during the parliamentary elections, especially those held on 8th of February 1925. Ruling parties (NRS and SDS) promoted themselves under the motto of the state and national unity. In order to ensure victory in the elections they have hired entire state and bureaucratic apparatus, and the nationalist pro-regime organizations, which in turn, had the task to prevent entering to the parliament of "antinational" and "antistate" elements, i.e. opposition parties, at all costs. Therefore, the nationalists in the elections of 1925. gave generous assistance to "state" parties (NRS and DS).The activity of the nationalists in parliamentary elections of 1925. was recognized through the performance of acts of terrorism against all political opponents. Terrorist actions were conducted in all constituencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Although the nationalists during the elections of 1925. committed a large number of terrorist acts, they were not punished by the state authorities. By such actions, the regime identified itself with the actions of nationalist organizations. Thus, the nationalist organization operated as a designated "private" military of the regime and the ruling political parties. Actions carried out by nationalists in order to prevent the opposition party rallies, and then interfering with voters, have greatly contributed to the victory of "state-building" parties in this election. Activities of nationalist organizations were inciting hatred and created a deep rift among people of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
